Warrick Dunn Has Helped 147 Families Buy Homes

In December, former Florida State University football star Warrick Dunn helped the 147th single-parent family buy a home since his Atlanta-based charity started in 1997.

Dunn established Homes for the Holidays during his first year in the NFL and started Warrick Dunn Charities in 2002. Over the years, the programs have rewarded single-parent families purchasing their first home with complete home furnishings and help with down payments.

The charities were created in honor of Dunn’s late mother, a Louisiana police officer, who was shot and killed in a robbery when Dunn was just 18. They have reached 147 families in 14 cities across the country including Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Tampa.

Dunn was a standout at FSU and played 12 seasons in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
