LeBron James Donates $41 Million To Send 1,100 Kids To College

LeBron James never went to college, now he's making sure kids in his hometown of Akron will go to one.

After giving Cleveland its first NBA title, James is now partnering with the University of Akron to give guaranteed four-year scholarships to young kids in the area per ESPN.

Through his "I Promise" program, students who are qualified will get a scholarship that will cover tuition and the general service fee from the university.

At $9,500 per year and 1,100 students, that's a total of $41.8 million from the King's foundation.

James first announced the news last month while hosting an event at the Cedar Point Amusement Park.

“It’s the reason I do what I do. These students have big dreams, and I’m happy to do everything I can to help them get there," the three-time NBA champion said.
